All the very best for 2012 from St Boswells in the Scottish Borders

Sorry for my lack of blogs over the past few weeks.  The run up to Christmas was hectic and then we started our St Boswells guest house for the festive season.

We have welcomed so far both sets of grandparents which has been wonderful to see three generations together eating, laughing and opening some presents.

We are now about to welcome my brother and sister-in-law and their beautiful daughter to celebrate New Year with us.  The kids are really excited and have enjoyed opening up their house.  So much so that they even helped me clean the house today so four bed changes and hoovering and cleaning was done so much quicker.

So we are now nearly at New Year as a celebration I prefer Christmas I have a tendency sometimes to get rather morose at this time of the year.  Which can involve getting deep about the good and the bad of the previous year and get sad about loved ones who have left us.  And have been known to go to bed before the bells just to avoid this.

However for the past few years I have found a cure and have become a convert to the hoolie in the hall which takes place in St Boswells village hall with all generations of the village celebrating in word, song and dance.  It has allowed me to realise that you need to celebrate the good things in life with your family and friends.  And New Year resolutions are here to make improvements to our life!

So Happy New Year to you all when it comes where ever you are and whatever you are doing.  From here in St Bowells in the wonderful Scottish Borders.
