Young Apprentice – Old BBC

I love the Apprentice and enjoyed blogging about the adult series over the spring. I didn’t manage last year to watch the Young Apprentice though wished I had. So it was with some anticipation that I sat down last night to watch the first episode. The idea being that I would like the adult version blog on a weekly basis.

I was expecting to be humbled by the innovation of the young apprentices. Their enthusiasm for the tasks, their team work. In short I was hoping to be inspired about the future.

Instead it was worse than the adult version. One up manship, no team work, very little skills and a great glee for putting the knife in the back of their competitors. Plus too many candidates with marbles in their mouth for my liking.

So in short I won’t be blogging about the Young Apprentice as to be honest I have better things to do with my time. And I don’t think I can put either my husband or myself through another episode. As I wrote in my recent blog big brands seem to behind the current times. Looking at the Young Apprentice so do the BBC. The cut throat world of business as they portray it. Is that not what we are trying to get away from? Is that not what has brought this country and others to its knees?

No I vote for integrity, honesty, true innovation and partnership signs of a new and better economy. Not the same old format BBC even if you do title it young!
