Day Three salvage yard is hovering

Still feeling weary but guess the weather today doesn’t help its very dreich today which matches my mood.

Attempted to sleep in today but was hindered no not by the kids.  No by our dog who did everything he could do to wake me up including jumping on top of me!  Then the phone rang and it was the garage to say that they had bad news.  I told them the insurance firm had beaten them to it.  So was then asked if we had stuff in the car as the scrap guys like to get in their fast!  And if so could I come and pick it up today.  Given the garage knows we only have one car now and that Andy commutes to Edinburgh I wondered how they thought I was going to get from St Boswells to Morebattle.  I may be wrong but suspect that journey by bus would take the best part of the day.  He kept going on about the salvage people wanting Wanda real quick and quite frankly I didn’t want to hear.  So husband is going down there tomorrow in Bertie to empty Wanda.  And I guess that’s it as the Salvage people want her real quick.

The rest of the day has not been much better though not because we don’t have a car but because the kids have decided to spend the first day of their half term fighting.  On the fighting scales I used to think that nothing could beat my sister and I.  But have to say that they have given us a run for our money!  So drastic punishment has been given out no TV for a week for both of them.   I am quite sure that Tracey Beaker programme is not a good role model for them.

On the car front I haven’t really missed one today apart from the fact I have a sore throat and would like to get the nice cough sweets from Milestone which is in the next village.  We have started the search for the new one.  It’s highly likely it will be another Honda CRV though as my daughter and husband says Wanda the Honda was the ideal name.  What are we going to call it?  My daughter and my husband would like a Landrover Discovery and son and I want another CRV.  Given the budget think we are likely to get our way on that one.  Browns the Honda garage have been in touch and have been really helpful.  So suspect tomorrow we could well be in Peebles to check it out.

For the rest of the day trying to juggle work, kids (who are now finding lots of things to do and not fighting now that TV is off), making tea and then getting ready for the big event of the week.  Bright Light Marketing are hosting a table at the Bill McLaren dinner tonight at Prestonfield promises to be a good night.  Rory Bremner is the main speaker.  But it will be a late one and guess who is on football duty in the morning?

So day three without car and I’m managing ok though it’s helped by the fact that its half term but to be honest I’m still missing Wanda and trying not to think too much about the Salvage people!  But we need to move on so any names for a new Honda other than Wanda?
