Apprentice 2010 Integrity is key for me.

Well the final is Chris and Stella would not have been my choice but Sir Alan is happy with his decision and it is his job to give after all.  I was rather pleased to see that he seemed to realise that he had made a mistake firing Liz last week instead of Stuart!  Had he read my blog?

And Stuart found last night that there is someone who can beat him when he was told that he was not a big fish in fact he was not even a fish!  A long way down from being a field of ponies!  He is finally gone but he did give me one more smile when he walked into the interview with Margaret and greeted her like a long-lost friend.  I must admit that I have done that myself famously standing by Rory Bremner at the Border Union Show in the summer and saying hello before realising that no I didn’t know him he was Rory Bremner.  So although I cringed I did so with some understanding of how easy that mistake is.

The interview programme is one that we all enjoy to see them all squirm and to find out who has holes in their CV.  I must admit I would hate to have to go through the process myself and unlike Johanna I sat there last night glad that I am self-employed and seeing that process it gave me the zeal to work even harder at my own business.

But the Apprentice is all about getting a job from Sir Alan.  What can I say about interviews well I am going to keep this short but for me the most important thing about business as in all walks of life is to be true to yourself and keep your own integrity.  And secondly as someone told me once when I was going for an interview it is a two-way process.  Yes they are interviewing you but you are also seeing if you like them too and if the job and the company is one that you would want to work for and be a part of and you shouldn’t be afraid of walking away if it doesn’t feel right for you.  It would be great if someone did that on the Apprentice rather than having Sir Alan fire them.  But guess the competition, fame and the money gets to people and they believe it will be life changing when they are capable of changing their life without the assistance of Sir Alan.

So next week is the last week of the Apprentice final is always a good one and so hard to tell who he will say the famous words to “YOU ARE HIRED” and then with those words the Apprentice will be over for another year!
